Actors: Hiroyuki Sanada, Billy Campbell, Kyra Zagorsky, Mark Ghanimé, …
Plot: The first season of this sci-fi thriller follows a team of CDC scientists who are led by Dr. Alan Farragut and thrust into a potentially life-or-death situation after being deployed to a privately run research base in the Arctic to secretly investigate what could be a disease outbreak.
Review: Okay, so… damn. I don’t even know where to begin. It starts off as a disease-outbreak kind of deal, so I was already thinking zombie-like infection and apocalypse and whatnot, but every episode there’s a damn new revelation that kind of change the cards on the table. It’s layer after layer of conspiracies behind this virus, as if they just picked a bunch of different plot ideas out of a hat and mixed them?
I’m not even saying it’s a bad show, but without giving spoilers it’s kind of hard to explain. The acting is relatively poor; the characters are kind of uninteresting; the plot-twists can be somewhat absurd. But overall I suppose I enjoyed the show, it’s an OKAY sci-fi-ish/thriller to watch when you’re bored.
My Score: 6.5/10
